On the forefront of experimental bass music lies Shadient, the 21-year old London artist pushing boundaries in his own sound and the electronic world. From elegant, moody melodic interludes to heavy bass tracks of twisting buildups and torrential drops, the beauty in his music prevails in his variation and commitment to honesty, emotion and technicality. Shadient has been producing for over 10 years and has garnered the support of luminaries such as Porter Robinson, Rezz, Madeon, RL Grime and much more.
“Shadient is one of the most promising new artists out right now. There's that pure, heavy, unclassifiable rhythmic distortion porn -- but there's an element of beauty and restraint...”
- Porter Robinson
Shadient takes inspiration from a variety of primary influences such as Gesaffelstein, Boys Noize and Aphex Twin. On the origin of his artist identity he says, “It was a name I made in 2015 at college, from the get go it was this world of ideas I had rushing into my head of metallic and industrial imagery, dark visual aspects, noise and bass leaning music.”
His debut EP in 2017, winter=reality, and most recent single “Collider”, were released on Mat Zo’s highly regarded Mad Zoo label and his past releases have charted worldwide on the iTunes Electronic charts and Beatport. In addition, his diverse repertoire includes official remixes for RL Grime, The Mary Nixons (The Knocks and Mat Zo) and The M Machine.
With a selection of new music and touring plans to come, stay tuned as Shadient continues to build and define his artistry.
