Asbury Park based musician, producer, & singer/songwriter Quincy Mumford blends hip-hop beats and soulful melodies in his forthcoming EP titled 'Every Wednesday' with world renown producer and DJ, Jenaux.
Quincy grew up in a small beach town on the east coast of New Jersey. Inspired by the ocean and surrounding city of Asbury Park, he was fascinated by its music history and deep roots. He spent most of his time surfing and playing guitar. Quincy eventually began to write his own songs and released his first record in 2008. Since then, he has written and released several local award-winning albums, amassing a huge fan base across the Jersey Shore. He has brought this passion on tour across the country with his live band, Quincy Mumford & The Reason Why. They have shared the stage with acts such as Slightly Stoopid, Rusted Root, The Revivalists, and played music festivals like Gathering of the Vibes and Firefly.
With Quincy Mumford's positive and funky music, he wants to help those in need. In an effort to give back, he has raised over $70,000 for non-profits over the years. His mission statement is a release titled 'Helping Hand' from 2016 with producer Michael Ghegan.
In 2017, Quincy Mumford took a break from the road and went back into the studio, this time with the producer, Jenaux. Their collaboration sparked a new sound for Quincy, into what he says is "The music I've always wanted to make." Hip-hop grooves, thumping bass, funky guitar, and soulful melodies. They channeled inspiration from their favorite artists like D'angelo and Al Green. Quincy's first single 'Thank You' is expected to drop in September 2018. Two more singles will follow along with the release of the highly anticipated 'Every Wednesday EP' featuring six brand new tracks.
