Eli Young Band Makes Strong Debut Headlining Houston Rodeo, Playing To A Crowd Of 57,208
Nashville, TN -- Republic Nashville / Universal Republic recording artist Eli Young Band made their debut on Friday night headlining the Houston Rodeo. The band played to a cheering crowd of 57,208 fans, one of the highest attendance counts this year at the rodeo, topping the attendance records of several A-level acts.
Lead singer Mike Eli, said from the stage, "when I was a kid, we used to go to the Houston Rodeo. I dreamed about this day my whole life. And here we are living it!" It was a career milestone for the band and a life-long dream fulfilled for Eli.
EYB played a high energy one hour set including fan favorite "Guinevere" scheduled to go for ads this week at radio across the country. As well as up-tempo crowd pleasers like "Jet Black And Jealous" and "Throw And Go" which Houston Chronicle described as "a standout, rock-fueled sneering showcase for guitarist James Young and drummer Chris Thompson."
Eli announced their Top 10 hit "Always The Love Songs," with encouragement for the budding singers and musicians in the audience. "You go do it!" Eli shouted. "And work your butt off." Houston Chronicle added, "It's obviously paying off for these guys."
The performance was a follow up to the bands recent sold out performance at San Antonio Rodeo and the sold out Gary Allan Get Off On The Pain Tour. EYB will join Montgomery Gentry, Jamey Johnson, Jack Ingram, Little Big Town, Eric Church and others on the Country Throwdown Tour this Summer starting in May.
