Manchester Orchestra canvases US behind sophomore album

Manchester Orchestra has confirmed the dates for its upcoming spring and summer North American headlining tour.

Known for their strict work ethic and pavement-pounding tours, the indie rockers will hit the road hard behind their forthcoming sophomore album, "Mean Everything to Nothing." The long trip begins April 21 in Nashville, TN, winding from coast to coast and back again before finishing up with a two-night stand June 3-4 in Orlando, FL. The full itinerary is below. Rock act Fun will open the shows, along with Audrye Sessions and Winston Audio.

The group's pre-tour schedule includes a one-off performance at New York City's Mercury Lounge March 4 to preview the new album, which drops the following day, as well as a showcase at the South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin, TX, later that month.

Manchester Orchestra spent 300 days on the road in 2007 supporting their debut effort, "I'm Like A Virgin Losing a Child," an album praised by both Rolling Stone and The New York Times.
