December 10, 2008
Fans and Critics have spoken and Patty Loveless can now add two more to her ever-growing list of accolades. Sleepless Nights, released this past September 9th on Saguaro Road Records, was honored with a Grammy Nomination for "Best Country Album (Vocal or Instrumental)" and Patty received another nod for "Best Country Collaboration with Vocals" for "House of Cash," a duet by George Strait and Patty. "House of Cash" is featured on George Strait's recent release, Troubadour.
This makes for a career total of nine Grammy nominations for Patty and a first for her new record label, Saguaro Road Records.
"We are, of course, honored to have our first Saguaro Road Grammy nomination", says Time Life/Saguaro Road Senior Vice President Retail Mike Jason, but most importantly we are pleased to be a part of this deeply personal and successful project for Patty."
Upon Sleepless Nights' release, reviews poured in from all over the country, and the unanimous verdict was pure and simple: this is the right record, at the right time.
"If we ever needed a record of country music classics it's now, but to have them delivered by one of the greatest talents the music ever produced - a singer still very much in her prime - is a gift beyond measure." - All Music Guide (review on iTunes)
"For all the chart-topping success that Loveless enjoyed early in her career, she's in peak form these days, her voice strong and her delivery more soulful and measured." - Washington Post
"Loveless is to country music today what Mary J. Blige is to R & B: considerably older and seemingly quite a bit wiser than most of her competition, a torch carrier for tradition who sounds completely in the here and now, and simply her genre's best vocalist in a generation. - No Depression
With a successful 2008 coming to a close, Patty is setting her sights on a busy start to 2009. Look for her this January 14th & 15th as she hits the Big Apple for an appearance on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, and takes the stage at Lincoln Center. Patty will continue to tour in 2009 with dates scheduled in the following markets (more to be announced soon.)
