Multiple GRAMMY Award winner India.Arie will release her fourth studio album, Testimony: Vol. 2, Love & Politics, on February 10, 2009 on Universal Republic Records. The first two singles from the album, "Chocolate High" (featuring Musiq Soulchild) and "Therapy" are being added to radio this week. She has sold more than 8 million albums worldwide, and has received numerous awards and nominations: 17 GRAMMY nominations (most recently for "Words" with Anthony David), two GRAMMY awards, three NAACP Image Awards, and awards from BET, Billboard, Radio Music, MTV, VH1 Vogue Fashion, Essence Magazine and others. She has received critical acclaim from USA Today to VIBE magazine, Entertainment Weekly to People magazine. A voice initially heard by women around the world has developed into a voice heard by people around the world. Oprah Winfrey initially acknowledged her popularity on national television by thanking her for writing the her first single "Video," saying, "We (women) needed this song -- thank you for writing this song," and then recently praised her again on national television for her 2007 single "There's Hope."
The New York Times says, "Ms. Arie's music only further enhances her reputation as an artist of substance; centering on her acoustic guitar and confident but restrained vocals, it recalls such soul masters as Stevie Wonder and Roberta Flack."
She has her own label imprint entitled SoulBird Music through Universal Republic and released her first album, by Anthony David, in June of this year.
