Cary Brothers - A biography
Cary is best known for his single "Blue Eyes" from the Grammy Award winning Garden State Soundtrack.
For Under Control, Cary teamed up with producer Bill Lefler (Dashboard Confessional, Gym Class Heroes) in Los Angeles, and the two spent five months in the studio, writing songs organically as they recorded.
Co-founder of the Hotel Cafe Tour traveling across the US and Europe artists such as Sara Bareilles, Brett Dennen, and Ingrid Michaelson.
Early indie pioneer of having music licensed for tv and film. Cary's songs have been included in the movies "Garden State" and "The Last Kiss", as well as the upcoming film "Easy A" and on episodes of "Grey's Anatomy", "One Tree Hill", "Kyle XY", "Bones," and "Cold Case."
Released first full length LP Who You Are in 2007 featured hit song "Ride" and won "Best Rock Album or 2007" by the Indie Acoustic Project.
Video for "Ride" starred actress Brittany Snow and was one of the few truly independent videos ever to be added into rotation at VH1.
"Ride" has also been re-mixed by Tiesto and was a hit on the dance floors of Europe in 2008. Brothers' original collaboration with Tiesto, "Here on Earth," is featured on the DJ's 2009 record "Kaleidoscope" alongside the voices of Bloc Party, Sigur Ros, and Tegan & Sara.
Has toured with The Fray, KT Tunstall, Aqualung, Ben Lee, Matt Nathanson, Imogen Heap, and Liz Phair.
Has performed on "The Late Late Show," "Jimmy Kimmel Live," and "Scrubs," and was a guest performer with Aqualung on "The Late Show with David Letterman" and "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno."
